Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 20, 2026
MyMayna is operated by MyMayna LLC, a Washington limited liability company (referred to here as “MyMayna,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you or a family member you care for uses the MyMayna service or visits mymayna.com.
We have tried to write this in plain language, because we read privacy policies too. If anything is unclear, please write to support@mymayna.com.
The short version: we collect what we need to give your parent a warm daily call and a Memory Book, and nothing more. We never sell your information, we never use it for advertising, and we never share mobile phone numbers or texting consent with anyone for marketing.
This website
mymayna.com itself is a simple brochure site. It runs no scripts, sets no advertising trackers, and collects no personal information. Payments happen entirely on Stripe’s secure checkout pages — your card details never touch our systems.
Information we collect through the service
- Account information — name, email, phone number, language preference, and information about the family members you connect with.
- Voice conversations — audio of conversations between the member and Mayna, processed into text transcripts to power the Memory Book and conversation continuity.
- Memories and follow-ups — details Mayna keeps so she can be a good friend over time: people, events, preferences, recurring topics.
- Safety signals — automated assessments of whether a conversation contains content suggesting the member may need urgent attention.
- Usage information — technical data such as call timing, device type, and error logs.
How we use your information
- To provide the MyMayna service — daily calls, the Memory Book, family connection, and community benefits.
- To keep members safe — including sharing crisis resources during a call and notifying the family contacts you designate.
- To provide customer support and respond to your questions.
- To improve the quality and safety of the companion experience.
- To meet legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of our members.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use conversation content for advertising. Ever.
Text messages (SMS)
MyMayna sends text messages for three purposes only. By providing a mobile phone number during sign-up — for yourself or, with their knowledge, for a family member — you consent to receive these messages:
- Account & security texts — one-time sign-in and verification codes when you log in to the app.
- Safety alerts — a short text to the family contacts designated on the account when our safety system flags a conversation that may warrant a check-in. These alerts include the member’s first name and an alert category — not the conversation itself.
- Crisis resources — if a conversation raises serious concern, Mayna may text the member the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline number (and 911) so help is one tap away.
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Message frequency varies with account activity and safety events. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of that message type, or HELP for assistance; you can also adjust alert recipients in the app or email support@mymayna.com.
No mobile phone numbers or text-messaging opt-in data will be shared with, or sold to, third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messages are delivered through our telecommunications providers solely to transmit the messages described above.
Service providers
MyMayna runs on a small number of carefully chosen service providers, and we share only the minimum information each one needs to do its job:
- AI processing — powers Mayna’s conversations, memory, and safety checks, under commercial terms that prohibit using member conversations to train AI models.
- Telecommunications — connects Mayna’s calls and delivers the text messages described above.
- Cloud hosting and secure database storage — located in the United States.
- Payment processing — checkout happens entirely on our payment processor’s secure pages; card details never touch our systems.
Each provider is bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations and may use member information only to provide its services to us.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging of access to sensitive data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we treat your family’s stories the way we would want ours treated.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can export the Memory Book or request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@mymayna.com. Some information may persist in backups or audit logs for a limited period after deletion, as required by law or for operational integrity.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@mymayna.com. Washington State residents may have additional rights under the My Health My Data Act; we are working with privacy counsel to formalize those procedures.
Children’s privacy
MyMayna is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
When we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email and update the effective date above.
